What is life insurance?

Life insurance is a great way to help protect your family from the financial worries they could face if you were no longer around, such as household bills, child-care costs, university fees and covering mortgage payments.
Life insurance aims to pay out a cash sum if you die during the length of the policy.

Have you reviewed your life insurance?

Generally, life insurance is often filed away and forgotten about as soon as you buy it. But it’s a good idea to review the level of cover you have whenever a major event occurs such as getting married, having another child or buying a new home - especillay if you require a larger mortgage. Even giving up smoking and losing weight can lower the cost of life insurance premiums

Reviewing your current life insurance allows you to find out if your current cover is really the best suit for you.
Main types of life insurance

level term

A level term life insurance policy is one where you take out life insurance cover that
will be worth the same amount over the term and pay out that amount if you make a claim

Decreasing

This type of cover is specifically designed to cover the reducing amount you owe on

What is critical illness?

Critical illness cover gives you financial protection against certain illnesses and medical conditions of a specific severity as described under the policy terms.

Your cover will provide you with a lump sum cash payment or if monthly income benefit chosen, a regular income, which can be used to help you and your family. For example, it could help you pay off your mortgage, pay for treatment to help you recover or pay your household bills.

No one likes to think they could be diagnosed with a critical illness – but it can affect anyone at any age, at any time
